Ex-judge Lena Kalbach has to represent a Catholic priest, of all people, in her first appearance as a lawyer. The priest Lukas Schloss has embezzled a large sum of money and is facing a prison sentence and expulsion from the church. However, Lena discovers that the young priest had good reasons for his illegal actions. The lawyer wants to help him, but it's a difficult task: her husband Friedrich, of all people, is representing the church in this sensitive matter.
